Praia D’el Rei Beach is located in the locality of Leiria, approximately 100 km north from Lisbon. It is a very long beach surrounded by luxury residential resorts, golf club, restaurant and hotels like the Marriot.
The residential resorts and hotels are frequented by the participants in the famous “Supertubos” surf competition, that takes place in the near Supertubos Beach.
The Praia D’el Rei beach is also known for its waves suitable for surfing although not so famous as the Supertubos beach. It is more isolated, and normally it is a calmy beach, not very frequented.
The beach is surrounded by cliffs, and you have to consider that the beach is open to the Atlantic ocean: very windy and with cold waters.
As said previously, the beach is suitable for surfing but maybe not for a family day with children at the beach or to swim.
